Fundraiser for Il Tortellante
Thank you for supporting the Highland Park Sister Cities Foundation in our efforts to raise money for Il Tortellante, an organization in our sister city, Modena, Italy, co-founded by Massimo Bottura and Lara Gilmore, where young adults on the autism spectrum learn to make tortellini by hand from revered teachers: the rezdore, the term for the women who roll out the pasta. They impart the wisdom they've learned from the generations before them onto this new generation, keeping the traditions behind one of the region's most emblematic types of pasta alive. In addition to teaching the students a trade that has secured employment for many of the alumni, the Tortellante cultural project has also equipped them with life and social skills.

Trip to Yerucham
We’re beyond excited that Fran Sherman, co-concertmaster of the Highland Park Strings and a dear friend of HPSCF, recently visited our sister city, Yerucham, Israel! During her visit, she connected with Shahaf, the director of the Yerucham Music Conservatory, to explore exciting possibilities for future musical exchanges. Stay tuned for more harmonious updates!
