It is with great pride that we share the HPSCF Student Ambassador Program, chaired by HPHS student Samantha Levi and her team:

Benen Cahill, Felicia Firestone, and Maelyn Garcia. The Highland Park students have been connecting with their Puerto Vallarta counterparts on Zoom and Instagram to learn about each other’s culture and traditions and to share snapshots of their daily lives.

 

When US President Dwight Eisenhower started the Sister Cities program in the 1950s, he spoke of Citizen Diplomacy through People to People Exchanges. The students in both Highland Park and in Puerto Vallarta exemplify this goal. We could not be more proud of them.

 

Recently, the Puerto Vallarta Student Ambassadors met with the one representative of the Highland Park Student Ambassadors for a pizza party in Puerto Vallarta. Having already met via Zoom and Instagram, the students acted as if they known each other their entire lives. It was truly a magical evening and further testament to the power of the Sister Cities program ability to build bridges.
