Two years ago, members of the HPSCF were introduced by Puerto Vallarta councilman Eduardo Martinez to a small group of people from La Desemocada, an agricultural community in the Municipality of Puerto Vallarta, about a 45-minute drive northeast of the Centro District.
Among the people in the group was La Desembocada Mayor Juventino De León Alvarado and local artist José Maria Rosales López, who is better known as Don Chema. They had a vision to start an art program for the children of the town...and they needed our help.

The HPSCF worked with our Sister Cities counterparts in Puerto Vallarta to make their dream a reality. We donated money to purchase supplies and launch the program. Now called La DesembocARTE, the program is a shining example of what is possible when determined and dedicated people work together.

There are currently over 45 children enrolled in the program which is taught on Saturdays in the town square. The HPSCF continues to support this program and hopes to expand it through fundraising efforts. You can donate here. These photos were taken on Saturday, November 20.
